The work Poems of Touch: Half Sleep Winter explores the act of scanning and wandering through narrative spaces of image, sound, and text by “touching” the image surface with a computer mouse. Through these acoustically represented touches, the viewer sinks through layers of collage-like images. On the audio level, field recordings and electronic sound collages contrast with the images. In addition, each image can trigger texts and position them spatially. These texts are read from a text file and processed using a cut-up-like technique, pioneered by Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs. The resulting sentence fragments place the image and audio layers in their own context. It's about the possibility and impossibility of capturing moments and holding on to them.
